Schools Program
The Schools Program, sanctioned by the USTA is a grassroots, Santa Barbara County program designed to introduce tennis on site to elementary school children.
Local area pros work with the PE teachers during the school day or in the A-OK Afterschool program at Cleveland/SBCA. This Program is made possible with support from the Ed Doty Fund and Remembrance of Ted Smyth and is available to all elementary schools in Carpinteria, Summerland, Santa Barbara and Goleta. In the last several years the Program has been taught at Adams, Aliso, Canalino, Cleveland, Hope, Elwood, El Camino, Foothill, Harding, Hope, Kellogg, McKinley, Monroe, Monte Vista, Mountain View, Peabody, Roosevelt, Summerland, Vieja Valley, and Washington.
In 2018-19 over 6500 school children were exposed to Tennis in Santa Barbara!
